This is more than just a smoothie—you’ll feel like you’re drinking a gourmet ice cream milk shake. Without the ice cream, though, you can drink it without the guilt. This milkshake is a great meal replacement. It’s low-fat and packed with protein. This recipe makes one luscious serving, but can easily be doubled or tripled.
¼ cup frozen mango chunks
¼ cup frozen peach slices
¾ cup nonfat Greek-style vanilla yogurt (or regular vanilla yogurt)
¼ cup of low-fat milk
1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
Optional: sweetener (stevia packet, tsp. of honey, artificial sweetener, etc.)
Make sure your fruit is frozen solid—that is what gives your yogurt an ice cream-like texture.
Throw all the ingredients into a blender or food processor. Pulse until the mixture gets moving. If the mixture isn’t moving, try stirring it. If it’s still not moving, add a splash more of milk.
When all the frozen fruit has been pureed and the ingredients are combined, pour it into a tumbler cup and enjoy.
